If I had to explain Yin in one sentence this would be it:
It is the foundational energy that every action we make on every level uses to create existence.
It is connected to our skeletal system, ligaments and musculoskeletal structure of the body. It is connected to the Liver and Kidneys, which clean and filter our blood, water metabolism, remove waste, is in charge of reproductive organs and supply our cells with nutrients. SALVE MAKING
CLASS
We will be going over what salves are made of and the proper way to use them. Quickly moving into the hands on portion of the class. We'll also discuss making your own oils and lip balms. You'll be walking away your own salves, oil extract, recipes and informational printouts to take home. We'll be sharing the experience in a group class setting, and will be working with heat to melt the wax.
All the ingredients are organic and the whole class should only take 1.5 hours, we allotted 2 just in case. Aprons will be provided, if you have a personal preference please bring your own. We will be working with oils and spills do happen so they will be required.

Here we are folks!
Lets get the formalities out of the way we are James & Jeff. The Leaf and the Stone, the Rock and the Roots or, for us, the Growth and the Foundation it builds upon. We make a great team in so many ways and continue to get better as we grow with our strong individual talents. When we started bringing our two worlds together there was explosive creation and forging opportunities left and right for our community.
James started from farms and old world healing young in Cheyenne, WY, to Portland to get a culinary education and work at the Multnomah County Health Department, Peer Mentor at a HIV resource center, featured chef at Quest Center for Integrative Health and so much more! Such a passion for volunteer work and supporting folks that need help. This volunteering led a drive to do more to help the community. Becoming a Herbalist was not only a statement of his own health independence, yes slightly rebellious, but also to help others do the same themselves. Thanks to working with doctors and education at M.C.H.D. along with his clinical herbal education in San Diego, he learned body systems and a heavy focus on immune, cancer and digestion diseases.
